This Privacy Policy describes how Watchphile (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit https://watchphile.com, contact us about a watch, or complete a purchase. It applies to visitors in the United States and internationally.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Watchphile, based in Austin, Texas, United States, is responsible for personal information collected through this website and our sales process. For privacy requests, contact privacy@watchphile.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, shipping or billing address when you inquire or buy.
- Transaction information: watch purchased, price, payment references, shipping preferences, and correspondence.
- Identity verification: government ID or other documents we may request for fraud prevention on high-value sales.
- Communications: content of emails, messages, or forms you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URL, and approximate location derived from IP.

Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not require account registration to browse the site. We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories (health, biometric, etc.) unless you voluntarily include them in a message.
3. How we use your information
- Respond to inquiries and provide quotes on watches.
- Process sales, payments, shipping, and customer support.
- Verify identity and prevent fraud, chargebacks, and unlawful activity.
- Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations (including recordkeeping for high-value goods).
- Improve our website, listings, and services.
- Send transactional messages (order updates, shipping notices). Marketing emails only if you opt in or where permitted by law.

We use a minimal set of technologies to operate the site:

We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this site. If we add analytics or marketing tools in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, obtain consent.

7. Third-party links & embedded content
Our site links to Instagram, YouTube, and other third parties. We may display YouTube video thumbnails or metadata sourced from YouTube’s public feeds; playing videos on YouTube is subject to Google’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices. Review their policies before submitting information to them.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information as long as needed to fulfill the purposes above, including:
- Transaction and tax records: typically seven (7) years or longer if required by law.
- Inquiry records: until no longer needed for business purposes or you request deletion (subject to legal holds).
- Server logs: for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we hold. No website or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your email and devices secure when communicating with us.
10. Your privacy rights
All users
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., completed transactions we must record).
- Opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you additionally have the right to:
- Know the categories of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and disclosures.
- Delete personal information, subject to exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Categories we may collect include identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and professional information (inquiries). We disclose data to service providers as described in Section 5.
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request with written permission. We may verify requests as permitted by law.
Other U.S. state laws
Residents of Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other states with privacy laws may have similar rights. Contact us at privacy@watchphile.com to exercise applicable rights.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you contact us from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws. We take steps reasonably necessary to protect your information consistent with this Policy.
12. Children
Our services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Relationship to Terms of Sale
Purchases are also governed by our Terms & Conditions. In case of conflict between this Policy and a signed sale agreement about a specific watch, the sale agreement controls for that transaction.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes notice of the updated Policy.
